The cemetery was about 50 yards south of Turk Lane even with the top of the slope in a grove of trees. The site was decommissioned as a cemetery when the land was sold and no longer is marked. The wooden headstones were decayed and the iron fence was taken by the former owner (the great-granddaughter of Quilla James Nichols).
There were a number of gravesites but the only one confirmed to date is that of Quilla James Nichols, born 13 December 1822 in Jackson County, Alabama to Wiley B. Nichols and Celia Hancock. Quilla married Sarah Theodosia (Amelia) Hill about 1846 in Travis County. He died 29 April 1882 and was buried in this cemetery which was about 100 yards North of his home. His wife is buried in the Masonic, Boggy Creek Cemetery, # 142 on the above list. Quilla James Nichols was the general contractor who built the Old Land Office Building in 1858 that is located on the Southeast corner of the State Capitol grounds in Austin and was restored in the 1990’s.
